A growing number of retailers are selling HGH as an age-defying supplement. Many in the medical field say that it is unproven for those types of uses. It does help children with hormone deficiencies and some adults with specific disorders. S. Jay Olshansky, professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of Illinois in Chicago has recently described the use of HGH as an age-defying supplement as "rampant and illegal". Studies on this use have not been conclusive, so taking an unproven supplement can and has given people some serious side effects such as diabetes, carpal tunnel syndrome, and edema. HGH has been gaining popularity and it shows no signs of slowing down. From MSNBC.
